A Brown Eyed Friend

He watched her from the behind the alleyway as she came out from her office. As always, she carried a coffee mug in her hand. He could not fathom how she could drink coffee without milk. For that part, he simply disliked the smell of coffee on her. But he loved her and that was all that mattered. He had been with her for three years now and those had been the happiest years of his life.

He bounded up from behind the alleyway and ran after her. Today was the day he had finally decided that he would ride with her in her car. No more waiting for her to come home to catch a first glimpse of her. He crossed the busy street at a gallop, past the streaking cars and finally reached her. Her face lit up when she saw him.

‘My cutie’, she said. ‘Did you come all the way to meet me?’, she said smiling and kissed him.

‘Woof!’, he said.
